Online Marketing Strategy Paying Off for Hard Days Night Hotel
Webtise devised an online marketing strategy for the Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool in Autumn 2010 and the campaign has already delivered some great results in terms of online visibility and, most importantly, online hotel bookings.
We started the project by looking at best practice in hotel web design and applied our findings to the Hard Days Night Hotel site. The site is set up to promote all the assets of the hotel in terms of facilities, features and services and also convey special offer packages and encourage as many conversions as possible with simple contact forms and newsletter sign ups.
The next step was to implement our hotel SEO ideas to improve the site’s position in organic search engine results on the keywords that drive bookings through the site. For example we chose ‘Boutique Hotel Liverpool’ as a target keyword and within 3 months of applying the hotel’s SEO strategy it was already ranking well on page one of the search engine results.
This approach to SEO for Hotel Websites has contributed to increasing traffic to the site by 12% in the first quarter of 2011, and has also delivered a significant increase in new visits.

The second element of our strategy was to improve the hotel’s pay per click campaign. We felt the hotel was spending too much on PPC and not getting a good enough return. We overhauled the campaign targeting different keywords, creating new ad copy and adopting a new bidding system in order to increase hotel bookings online and reduce the overall cost of the campaign.
So far we have managed to reduce the monthly PPC spend by 25% and at the same time revenue from online hotel bookings through PPC has risen by 20%. Cost per conversion through the campaign has been reduced by 22%. Our management of the PPC campaign for the hotel has generated some great results – reducing costs and improving returns.
Figures are up across the board since we started implementing our online marketing strategy for the hotel; traffic, page views, and new visits in particular have seen significant improvements. Online hotel bookings have increased and costs have been reduced. And this is within just a few months of our online marketing ideas for the hotel being implemented, watch this space for further updates as our strategy continues and delivers more brilliant results.
